The Mini-CEX (mini-clinical examination) is essentially a way to spot check certain skills you want to improve. Rather than having someone observe you perform a full H&P, you could, for example, decide to have an attending or resident observe you perform one aspect of the physical exam.
The evaluation form is flexible and can accommodate assessment of the following:
• Oral presentation skills (see communications)
• Patient counseling (see communications)
It is a simple form to give a supervisor so you can get immediate, written feedback and document skills that may not always be directly observed.
You may either hand the form to Kathy to have it scanned so you can upload it or you can briefly summarize the feedback.
See Mini-CEX forms for PE and History.
